What the desk actually does
Sourcing and placement. We find buyers for feedstock that producers and collectors hold, and find supply for buyers who need it, across pyrolysis oil, waste oils and fats, waste plastics and recycled polymers. The desk places cargoes across Europe and beyond, from single isotanks to monthly term contracts.
Both sides, no book. The desk never takes title and does not trade for its own account, which means neither side is ever bidding against its own broker. Additives are the one exception, and we say so before you commit.
Market intelligence as a service. The prices page, the market reads, the two thousand answers on this site, they exist because a broker who does not know where the market stands is a price taker for his clients. The knowledge base is the desk's working tool, published.
Dispute mediation. When a cargo goes wrong, payment stops or quality is contested, the desk is brought in by sellers and buyers to unblock stalled trades, including ones we never brokered. Commercial, neutral, and far faster than arbitration.
Credentials and network
GROFOR membership. Sustainable Commodities is a member of GROFOR e.V., the German Association of the Wholesale Trade in Oils, Fats and Oil Raw Materials, founded in 1916, roughly one hundred member companies strong, publishing standard trading conditions and running its own arbitration tribunal.
KYC-cleared with the majors. The desk is KYC cleared with oil majors, international trading houses and polymer producers, which means a producer's material reaches counterparties that would otherwise take months of onboarding to approach.
People where the material is. Beyond the Netherlands, the network has people in Brazil, Scotland, England and the Czech Republic, and the desk trades in English and Dutch. Cargo does not care about time zones, so neither do we.

Why the site exists
Because nobody else wrote it down. The waste-based feedstock and pyrolysis oil market runs on tribal knowledge, on what a buyer told a seller who told a broker. This site puts that knowledge in public, with specifications, prices, rules and answers that sellers and buyers can check, quote and argue with.
Because informed counterparties are better counterparties. A producer who understands what the chlorine number means, why the documentation matters and where their material lands is a better client and a better trading partner than one who does not. The site is not charity, it is the desk's quality filter.
Because AI and Google should cite the right source. When someone asks an assistant or a search engine about selling pyrolysis oil, importing POME or the price of waste plastics, the answer should come from the desk that actually trades these materials, not from a content farm that has never seen a certificate of analysis.
